Free GIS Viewer
GIS Viewer displays GeoJSON, KML/KMZ, GPX, TCX, shapefiles, CSV with coordinates and WKT on an interactive map, with an attribute table, layer styling and geodesic distance and area measuring. Each layer exports as GeoJSON, KML, GPX, Shapefile, CSV or WKT. Basemap tiles come from OpenFreeMap, but your files are never sent anywhere.

Quick answers
Are my files uploaded?
No. Files are read and drawn in your browser. The only network requests are for the basemap tiles from OpenFreeMap, and they contain no information about your data. Choose “No basemap” to stay completely offline.
How do I convert KML to GeoJSON, GPX to KML or a shapefile to GeoJSON?
Open the file, then pick the target format under the layer and click Export. Every layer can be saved as GeoJSON, KML, GPX, Shapefile (ZIP), CSV or WKT.
Processed on your device: your files are never uploaded. How it works
Network activity in this tab
What this page has requested since you opened the site in this tab. An upload is any request that sends data: POST, PUT, PATCH or a request with a body.
No uploads: nothing has been sent from this page.

How to use the GIS Viewer
- Drop GeoJSON, KML/KMZ, GPX, TCX, a zipped shapefile (or its .shp, .dbf and .prj together), a CSV with latitude/longitude columns or WKT. Each file becomes a layer; nothing is uploaded.
- Click features to see their attributes, or browse the attribute table below the map; the selection is highlighted on both.
- Style each layer: color, line width, fill opacity, point size, labels or colors by attribute. Switch the basemap or choose No basemap to work offline.
- Measure distances and areas, then export a layer as GeoJSON, KML, GPX, Shapefile, CSV or WKT, or save the map view as a PNG.

Frequently asked questions
Why did some features disappear in the GPX export?
GPX can only store waypoints and tracks. Points become waypoints and lines become tracks; polygons are left out, and the tool tells you how many.
My shapefile is in the wrong place on the map. Why?
The map needs longitude/latitude. Shapefiles are reprojected automatically when the .prj file is included, so drop the .prj together with the .shp and .dbf (or use the ZIP). GeoJSON and CSV files in projected coordinates must be converted to WGS 84 (EPSG:4326) first.
Which CSV files work?
Files with latitude and longitude columns (named lat/lon, latitude/longitude, y/x and similar) or a WKT geometry column. Every other column becomes an attribute.
Why were my shapefile field names changed?
The dBASE format behind shapefiles allows at most 10 characters per field name, so longer names are shortened and made unique. The tool lists the renamed fields after the export.
