Free Mouse Test & CPS
Mouse Test & CPS checks the left, right, middle (wheel), back and forward buttons, and flags clicks less than 80 ms apart, a sign of a worn switch that double clicks. It also runs a click-speed test from 1 to 60 seconds, counts scroll steps and estimates the polling rate, which the browser or a busy CPU can cap.

Quick answers
How do I know if my mouse double clicks by itself?
Click the button pad once at a time. If some presses are flagged as coming less than 80 ms after the previous one, the switch is likely worn and “chattering”, which causes accidental double clicks.
What is a good CPS score?
Most people click 6–8 times per second. Around 10 CPS is fast, and special techniques like jitter or butterfly clicking can go above 12.

How to use the Mouse Test & CPS
- Click the button pad with each mouse button, including the wheel and side buttons, and check that each one lights up and counts.
- Double-click the double-click box to see how fast your clicks are; anything under 80 ms is flagged.
- Pick a test length and click as fast as you can for the click-speed (CPS) test.
- Scroll in the wheel box and move the mouse in circles in the polling box to read the scroll steps and report rate.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the measured polling rate lower than my mouse's setting?
The mouse only reports while it moves, so slow or paused movement lowers the number. Browsers, power saving and a busy computer can also limit it. Move in fast continuous circles and read the peak value.
Will the side buttons make my browser go back?
Inside the test areas we block that, so you can test them safely. Outside the test areas they work normally.
