Quick answers
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Face detection and background replacement run in your browser; your photo never leaves your device.
Will my photo be accepted?
The tool sets the size, head position and background to the published rules, but offices also check expression, lighting, glasses and sharpness, and rules change. Always check the current requirements of the issuing authority.

Frequently asked questions
How do I print passport photos at home or in a shop?
Download the 4 × 6 in or 10 × 15 cm sheet and order a normal photo print, or print the A4 / Letter PDF at Actual size (100 %, no fit to page), then cut along the marks.
What is the digital version for?
Online applications (for example the US DS-160 or DV Lottery, UK and New Zealand renewals, China visa forms) ask for a JPEG with a given pixel size and file size; the digital version is resized and compressed to fit.
