Free Video to GIF
Video to GIF converts part of an MP4, MOV or WebM clip into a looping GIF. Pick 5 to 30 fps, a width from 160 to 1080 px, the speed, colors and dithering while a live estimate shows the file size. Each GIF holds up to 1,500 frames and can loop forever or a set number of times.

Quick answers
Is the video uploaded?
No. Frames are decoded and encoded in your browser; the video never leaves your device.
How do I make the GIF smaller?
Shorten the clip, lower the frame rate (10–12 fps is usually enough), reduce the width and the number of colors, or turn dithering off.

Frequently asked questions
What does dithering do?
GIF frames can only hold 256 colors. Dithering mixes nearby colors in a fine pattern so gradients and skin tones look smooth instead of banded.
Can the GIF play only once?
Yes: choose Play once, or 2, 3 or 5 times, in the Loop menu. Forever is the default.
