Free Image to DXF
Image to DXF traces logos, drawings and silhouettes, or text set in one of 18 fonts, into closed outlines at real size for laser cutting and CNC. Tune threshold, smoothing and minimum feature size, add kerf compensation, and download DXF (R12 or R2000) with holes on their own layer, SVG or a 1:1 PDF.

Quick answers
Is my image uploaded?
No. Tracing happens in your browser; the image never leaves your device.
Which images trace best?
High-contrast artwork: black logos on white, silhouettes, scanned stencils or images with a transparent background. Photos usually need a strong threshold and smoothing.
Processed on your device: your files are never uploaded. How it works

How to use the Image to DXF
- Drop a logo, drawing or silhouette (PNG, JPG or SVG), or switch to Text and type your words.
- Adjust the threshold, smoothing and simplification until the outlines match; small specks can be ignored with a minimum size.
- Set the units, the design width and, for laser cutting, the kerf of your machine.
- Download a DXF (R12 or R2000), an SVG or a 1:1 PDF.

Frequently asked questions
Are holes kept?
Yes. Inner contours (the middle of an O, cut-outs in a logo) are detected and written on their own INNER layer in red, so you can cut them before the outer shape.
What is kerf compensation?
A laser or CNC tool removes a little material along the cut. Enter that width and the outlines are offset by half of it, so the finished parts and holes come out at the size you designed.
Which DXF version should I choose?
R12 is the safest choice for laser software, CNC controllers and older CAD programs. R2000 uses lightweight polylines and suits newer CAD software.
Can I convert text to DXF?
Yes. Switch to Text, pick one of the included fonts, set the letter height in millimetres or inches and download the outlines.
