Free Metronome

Metronome keeps a steady beat from 20 to 300 BPM, with clicks scheduled on the audio clock so timing holds in a background tab. Set the tempo by tapping, choose up to 16 beats per bar, accent or mute single beats, and add subdivisions, a polyrhythm or a tempo trainer. Export a WAV click track of up to 20 minutes.

Quick answers

How accurate is this metronome?

Clicks are scheduled on the audio hardware clock, not with ordinary timers, so they land on the exact sample even when the page is busy or in the background.

  2. Choose the time signature and click the beat dots to make beats accented, normal or silent.

Frequently asked questions

What does the tempo trainer do?

It changes the tempo by a set number of BPM every few bars until it reaches your target, so you can build speed gradually.

Can I use it with headphones or in a DAW?

Yes. Use the WAV export to create a click track with the same tempo, accents and subdivisions and import it into any audio editor.
